It is rare to stumble upon a person that can make a positive impact on one’s life that is significant, long term, and transformative. My family and I had this experience when working with attorney Samantha Gentel. My now-90-year old mother is in the later stages of Alzheimer’s, but when we first met Samantha, we were just realizing that she would need round-the-clock and prohibitively expensive care. Applying for MassHealth was the only option to try to get help with these costs, but the process is tricky and requires more documentation than you would ever think possible. Samantha, however, not only had the needed knowledge of this program and its requirements--her attention to detail, her diligence, and her determination were, and are, second-to-none. From sitting in on phone conferences with me and my parents’ bank to help that institution understand what information was required from them for our MassHealth application to anticipating any potential setbacks before they occurred, Samantha guided my siblings and me through every step of the process to its successful conclusion. Now, three years on, my mother is at home, completely cared for by aides who treat her as lovingly as her own children. She and my 94-year old father are secure in their situation, and can continue to live in the home they established 60 years ago when they first married. Over these past three years, I have sent person after person to Samantha, knowing that they would benefit from her straightforward, calm, practical help when they were in situations similar to mine. I will continue to recommend her and Generations Law Group, because this firm makes one feel like family—welcome, important, and cared for.
