Bay State Elder Law Changing Name to Generations Law Group

To better reflect the firm’s work of providing comprehensive legal services to the “sandwich generation” – those who balance their own needs while managing the futures of both their aging parents and their children – the firm name is changing from Bay State Elder Law to Generations Law Group.

“When a parent or in-law has a health crisis, it impacts every generation of a family. The adult children need to help sort out the ailing parent’s health, after-care, and housing which puts more pressure on other aspects of their life like caring for their own children, their job, and even their own self-care.   My experience as both a nurse and an attorney allow me to guide a family through the healthcare process which can make an enormous positive impact. This is the specialty service that sets us apart from other estate planning law firms” says firm co-founder and partner, Cathleen Summers.

Along with this name change is a new website and a renewed commitment to being educators and advocates in the community for families who are facing a health crisis for a loved one or who want to learn about the value of long term care planning or the importance of guardians and conservators.   The new website has a resource center with an ebook on “10 Things to Consider when a Loved One is Hospitalized” and articles on topics ranging from planning for the single adult to real estate to pet trusts. The firm also has plans for regular webinars and speaking engagements to provide a forum for educating and sharing.

While the firm name is changing, the firm will retain 100% of its employees and its offices. The phone numbers will remain the same, but emails addresses will match the new website, GenerationsLawGroup.com.

“We are proud residents and active members of the Acton and Sudbury communities. Our firm was founded in 2003. Generations Law Group provides families in MetroWest Boston with peace of mind by legally protecting their most cherished assets—their health and the financial future of their families across the generations—with comprehensive law specialties in estate planning, probate, elder law and real estate. We do this by compassionately listening and responding to clients’ needs” adds co-founder and managing partner, Philip Summers.
